Getting rid of accent? So what do you guys think is the best way to work on the accent? Right now I'm trying tongue twisters to improve articulation and diction but too yearly to say if it works lol Any good techniques out there that you found efficient?

1. Read about word stress (and the sound "schwa"), then also about sentence stress - this can be an eye-opener! :) http://www.englishclub.com/pronunciation/word-stress-1.htm 2. Watch videos about reductions - you can start here: http://funeasyenglish.com/new-american-english-reductions-reduced-words-introduction.htm 3. Google "accent reduction", especially pages that explain interference from your first language so you know what to watch out for. 4. Listen to and imitate native speakers (using videos, songs, etc.). It's best if you can read the transcription of what the person is saying (or the lyrics to the song you're listening to). Good luck! :)

Try whispering. If you whisper ...most of your accent disappears. Try it. Get someone to listen to you. The trick is to identify exactly what it is that 'comes back', in terms of accent, as you bring your voice back up to normal levels. Try googling the whispering technique and see what helpful hints you can find.

придётся отчаянно кривляться попытки поговорить на английском "как нормальный человек" неизменно упираются в хэви рашэн эксент чем меньше твоя речь похожа на нормальную тем больше она похожа на стэндэрт инглыш
