what does "hockey stick"plan mean? Too often managers recommend plans that look like a hockey stick. The numbers go down the first year or two and then go dramatically up in later years. If you accept “hockey stick” plans, you will find they may be proposed year after year after year.

"Hocket stick" is a name derived from the shape of a hockey stick. The long handle is the upside, but it is only reached after passing through the period represented by the blade of the stick, which is shorter. The graph looks like the outline of a hockey stick like that used in ice hockey.
