a talent and talents 1) "The boy's musical talents were first recognized by his teacher." 2) "Her good looks and natural talent brought her immediate success in Hollywood." Why is the word plural in the 1) sentence and in singular in the 2)? When you say artistic/theatrical/music talents, what exactly these talents mean?

I reckon it is stylistic. You could say that the musical talents cover playing, composition, arrangement, etc. Conversely, her acting talent brought her success. I believe that the plural emphasizes how polyvalent and gifted the boy is within that field.
