ご主人 is someone else's husband whereas 主人 is your own. Other examples are: ご出身(Where others are from) and 出身 (where you are from) ご家族(family of others) and 家族(family of your own) ご兄弟(siblings of others) and 兄弟(siblings of your own)

ご主人 is more polite than 主人. For example,お+noun 花andお花 お花 is more polite than 花.
