What do you call the length of time within which your food or product is safe to use?
For example ,
if sth is produced on February 1 and expires on February 9,then it's (?)is 8 days?
Thank you in advance。

The length of time that a product, especially food, can be kept in a shop before it becomes too old to be sold or used IS shelf life. For example: fresh fruit has a very short shelf life.

'Shelf life' doesn't apply to all products. Packaged produce and meats are stamped with a "sell by" date, a "use by" date -- or both. When discussing the freshness of these foods, we actually say "use-by date".
