Can anyone paraphrase "you got me wide open"? --Backstreet Boys lyrics I was trying to translate Backstreet Boys' song, "In A World Like This", when I found the first part really difficult to understand. What does "you got me wide open" mean? I thought it meant "you caught me off guard" or "you snuck up on me at the least likely moment", but it makes no sense to me. And also, "you got me still calling" from the lyrics really puzzles me. Thanks in advance for your help! Howdy! The lyrics, "You got me wide open" is a poetic way of saying that he is vulnerable and "open" to the girl he is singing to. Your translations work as well- but it isn't going to translate perfectly because they are making it pleasing to hear. Does that make sense?
