How can I make this sentence more tangible? But in Europe more than two centuries of uninterrupted time has been spent to know, understand and full access to the works. "full access" is not good here, but I don't know how to replace it.

In Iran, before Mr. Pourdavoud no profound research has been done to understand the works in Avestan language. But in Europe more than two centuries of uninterrupted time has been spent to know, understand and full access to these works.
