When are reflexive verbs used instead of their regular forms? I know what a reflexive verb is, I just need to know when they are used because I always have trouble with them.

Reflexive verbs are used when the subject in the sentence can do the action to themselves. For example, "me cepillé los dientes." (I brushed my teeth) Me lavé las manos. (I washed my hands) Me desperté a las siete de la mañana. (I woke myself up at 7AM) Conversely, non-reflexive verbs have an action that is done upon another person. For example: Te abracé. (I hugged you)
