Like Peachey explained, a cook might cook cuisine. A cook is a chef (I think the only difference there technically is education, but that's not important). You can cook food. Cuisine is food prepared in a certain way (for example, "Asian cuisine").

In English, cuisine is a style of food, typically from a specific country or region. A cook is a person who cooks. So you see, the word can be either a noun or a verb.
