My first German book Question for native German speakers: I am trying to find a good book to read in German for the first time, the one I chose as a candidate is entitled Nils Holgersson. I have two questions: 1. Is this version of the book modern or old German? 2. What is the accent of the readers? E.g. Berlin, München, Swedish Please listen an extract here: http://www.audible.de/pd/Kinder-Hoerbuecher/Die-wunderbare-Reise-des-kleinen-Nils-Holgersson-mit-den-Wildgaensen-1-Hoerbuch/B005ER1C06 Thank you for commenting.

The book is in rather normal German. The speaker has no accent, a rather good voice actor. Very good hochdeutsch.
