You remind me of my mother. That's fine. The implication is that either the person's appearance or behaviour makes you think of your mother. You remind me of me when I was a child. This makes sense grammatically, but I can't imagine what it would mean. Can a person remind you of a whole period of time? If that's what you mean, then this one is fine, too.
