Tag. You are it? "My turn to pick the route," Hanna says, eyes sparkling, and before i can open my mouth to protest, she lunges forward and smacks me on the shoulder. "Tag. You are it," she says, and just as easily spins off the bench and sprints for the door, laughing, so i have to run to catch up. I would like to know what does ""Tag. You are it" mean. Thanks.

TAG is a game played where one person "tags" another (touches) the other on their body and the person who is "tagged" , must run after the other person to tag/touch them. When the person says "you are it!", it means they /the person tagged must run after the other person to tag them.

It is a reference to a children's game, Tag, where the person who is "it" runs and tries to "tag" (touch) the other children, making the tagged person "it". Usually played by very young children.
