The best way to improve your reading skills is to read a lot, practise every day and to read things which you find interesting.You cannot improve if you read things which are not interesting for you.

I recommend reading fairy tales and simplified newspaper versions - it really helps with learning how to read and also gives you joy when you understand what you read.
