You are lucky because you already have a background in writing Kanji. (I assume anyway) This will help you with reading, even if you have no idea what the correct pronunciations are, you can easily understand most of the meaning. In order to learn Japanese well, it is like everything else, practice, practice, practice!

i heard from my friend, he is living in Japan, he told me Japanese is easy for him. when he went there he cannot talk, but after 3 years, he seems like a Japanese. nobody knows he is Chinese if he doesnt say it.
