When I use "a few" and "lot of"?

A few = algumas (no sentido de pouco) Exemplo: I took a few pictures (Eu tirei algumas fotos) Few = poucos (no sentido negativo) Exemplo: I took few picture (eu tirei poucas fotos, gostaria de ter tirado mais) A lot = um monte, muitos I have a lot of cars (Eu tenho um monte de (muitos) carros I hope I could clear up your doubts.

The only difference is that "a few" refers to a small quantity, and a "lot of" is a large quantity or amount of something.
