'in just your stocking feet' means while wearing stockings (an old fashioned word for socks) but without wearing shoes.

'stocking feet' = 'socks on your feet'

We use 'in' to talk about what we are wearing. You can watch other skaters wearing just your socks. 'I woke up in the clothes that I was wearing the night before.' 'I was standing in the rain wearing only my t-shirt and shorts' or 'I was was standing in the rain in just my t-shirt and shorts.'
