I'd like to know the difference between "be" and "stand" 1. I'm ready! 2. I stand ready! I think both of them convey the same meaning wherever. Could there be any difference between the two sentences in meaning? Please help me! Thanks!^^

they both mean the same thing, but I've never heard any of my friends say "I stand ready" instead of "I'm ready." I stand ready sounds like someone is in the military or about to go on a mission or something.
