How would you differentiate "ethic" from "etiquette"? ~ (I do appreciate your answers, but please don't advise me to neither look for its meaning in the dictionary nor suggests a good site! I want your unique idea.) 1. How important "ethic" or "etiquette" to your life? 2. How can anyone gain such values?

Etiquette is rules of behaviour like not chewing with your mouth open. It's about being polite. In China you should pour tea cups 70% full and alcohol glasses 100% full. That's good etiquette. Ethics are about using your conscience to do what is right. It's about treating others as you would have them treat you, not being selfish, helping people without wanting anything back, considering the effects of your actions on the world around you, acting for the greater good rather than just yourself or your smaller community.

think "etiquette" is very important to one's life, but people from different countries have different etiquette, for example, we Chinese people usually don't wear green hats. Especially if a man wears a green hat, others will laugh at him. If a person knows a country's etiquette well, he will be welcome to its people and establish a nice relationship tothem. Knowing a country's culture well is good way to gain its values.
