Past tense verb + と言っていました I'm going through the first Genki textbook and I'm in chapter 8. Section 3 explains how you can say "They said...." using と言っていました. Example : スーさんはあした試験があると言っていました。(Sue said there would be an exam tomorrow.) I was wondering if I wanted to say "Sue said there was an exam yesterday" would I say "スーさんはきのう試験があったと言っていました." ?
