well, they called MODAL in English and part of "Helping Verb" that can stand by itself. so actually can, will, shall are use in present. and could, would and should is use in past and they're more polite than can, will, shall. well, the sixth usage of the words almost have same meaning, but it doesn't mean we can use that words freely, it must be adapted to our speaker and conditions of that time..
