capacity= number of things/people a space can hold...eg: a fuel tank whith a capacity of 50 litres. capability= the ability to do s.th. eg: Animals in a zoo have lost the capability to catch food for themselves. (source: Oxford Advanved learner's dictionary) if you don't know words, esp. their meaning you can look them up in a monolingual dictionary and also in a bilingual one!! íf you look them up all by yourself it's a very good practice and you will remember those distinctions/ differences in meaning more easily!! regards, patty

capacity ~= 量(或容量). 比如說 production capacity = 產量 capability ~= 能力
