mine is an INDIAN flag The flag is a horizontal tricolour of "deep saffron" at the top, white in the middle, and green at the bottom. In the centre, there is a navy blue wheel with twenty-four spokes, known as the Ashoka Chakra, taken from the Lion Capital of Asoka erected atop Ashoka pillar at Sarnath. The diameter of this Chakra is three-fourths of the height of the white strip. Bhagwa or the saffron colour denotes renunciation or disinterestedness. The white in the centre is light, the path of truth to guide our conduct. The green shows our relation to (the) soil, our relation to the plant life here, on which all other life depends. The "Ashoka Chakra" in the centre of the white is the wheel of the law of dharma. Truth or satya, dharma or virtue ought to be the controlling principle of those who work under this flag. Again, the wheel denotes motion. There is death in stagnation. There is life in movement. India move and go forward. The wheel represents the dynamism of a peaceful change. It also represents 24 hours in a day.

The British flag is called the Union Jack. It is a combination of the English flag (red '+' on white background), the Scotish flag (white 'X' on blue background) and an old version of the Welsh flag (red 'x'). It symbolises the union of all 3 countries. The Thai flag is 5 horizontal stripes of the colours: red, white, blue, white, red. The middle blue stripe is twice as wide. It is called the Trairanga and the story is that there was an embarrasing moment when the traditional flag: a red elephant on a white background, was hung upside down. Thus a new flag was designened to avoid a repeat incident. The red and white stripes represent Thailand's alliance in World War Two (and represent people and state too) and later a thick, blue stripe was added as the colour of Friday - the day the King was born. So the blue stripe represents the Thai King.
