how to understand the phrase "where did it all go wrong?" I think this phrase means something terrible happened and I am wondering what made this go into such bad state, where did it go bad, but why use all to. for stress? , Im not sure,so pls give me some more explanation, thank u

all just indicates the whole thing or all of the situation. So if a couple who has been together for a few years breaks up, one can say about them ' where did it all go wrong, they seemed so happy '

You seem to understand yoursef perfectly what it means. As for the word "ALL", it is the same difference as it is in " it is good" and "it is all good" : it is just to emphasize that the whole thing is good or that the whole thing has gone wrong....
