あなたはゆうじんがなるたいか? (Do you want to be friends?) So I wanted to make sure was asking this politely. I wrote it three different ways but didn't know if any of them were appropriate: ゆうじんなるたいか? あなたはゆうじんがなるたいか? あなたはゆうじんがなるたいかね?

If you want to translate that sentence directly into Japanese, you can say "あなたは友達になりたいですか?". But this Japanese phrase is impolite. So you should say "私と友達になってくれますか?". Of course, fvenegas's advice is correct as well.

If you are asking the person if they would like to friends with you then you can simply say: あなたと友達になりたい (roughly: with you I want to become friends) あなたと友達になりたいです (same, but a bit more polite) Use the 「と」(= with) particle
