I've never heard this statement before, but if I had to guess I think it would mean that as long as you don't know what is really going on you won't have to worry about it. For example, if you were eating at a restaurant and you were eating food you thought was very delicious, but there was garbage in it. Since you didn't know there was garbage in it, you were happy that it was delicious. There is another English saying "Ignorance is bliss" which I believe is similar to this statement, but I'm not 100 percent sure.
