Why do you use '건가' at the end of a sentence ? Like in the sentence "못 보던 사이 이곳에서 특정한 가문이라도 이끌고 있는 건가" (By the way, what does 가문 mean ? My dictionary says 'one's family[clan]' but it doesn't make sense in this sentence)

"있는 건가" That's a rhetorical question mostly for monologues. The sentence could have ended with "있나" instead, but it would be a little bit too "shallow", ie not as serious as "있는 건가".
