To ring or to call Is the verb "to ring" used in common modern speech in the meaning "to call on the phone"?

In the UK we use both 'to ring (up)' and 'to call' as well 'to phone.' I couldn't tell you which is more common, you hear all three.

In the UK they say, "ring" or "ring up" but in the U.S. we say "call."
