To give someone the benefit of the doubt. How would you express the phrase "To give someone the benefit of the doubt" in Russian? The phrase is used when you have some doubt about what someone is telling you, but as you have no evidence to contradict what they are saying, you choose to accept what they claim.

"Презумпция невиновности" в юриспруденции, когда вина не доказана. "Кредит доверия" когда даём возможность кому-то реализовать свою идею в будущем

"Benefit of the doubt" is translated with Russian idiom "презумпция невиновности". But it can't be оnly provided, not given. So the phrase may be translated as "обеспечить кому-либо презумпцию невиновности". In spoken language it can be converted in "поверить кому-то на слово" (really very spoken) or "предположить, что кто-то невиновен".
