Do both sentences have the same meaning? It doesn't seem to me like that. It doesn't sound like that to me.

"It doesn't sound " is associated with something you heard ! - They heard them fighting . I think they are at the edge of breaking up. - It doesn't sound like that to me . ( You heard them ) " It doesn't seem .." could be something you heard inclusive , but is more general encompassing a situation you have seen or perceived with any of your other senses. - The texture is of very fine quality. - It doesn't seem like that to me ( seem to me like that ) . You might have seen it ,touched
