What's the main difference between primaries and caucuses in the american election system

2 differences between a primary and and a caucus are (1) voting in a primary is much faster than voting in a caucus. when i voted in the virginia primary, i completed my ballot casting in about 5 minutes. if you were to vote in the iowa caucus, it would take you several hours to complete. (2) if you vote in a primary, your vote is completely secret. if you vote in a caucus, all of your neighbors will know who you voted for and you will know who all of your neighbors voted for. you may judge for youself which system is better.
