Good evening Jinx,
Well, speaking from my own experience as a foreigner who's studying Italian, the best way to learn a language is to practise it every day. Apart from this, you need a good student's book that is made for autodidactical purposes (or are you studying Italian in a university course?)
Then: do not underestimate the necessity of learning and studying THOROUGHLY the Italian grammar. It seems easier (than French, e.g.), but there are some tricky things, too ;-)
Above all: don't lose courage! Try to spend at least 1/2 hour with your language studies everyday - even if it is just a repetition of something you already know.. Cari saluti e buona fortuna!
Sonia :)
PS: if you like Italian Pop, check out Tiziano Ferro: he's a real cutie, his voice is maaaaaaaaarvellous and his pronunciation is clear and comprehensible.
