According to Wikipedia, currently the longest flight is between New Jersey (USA) and Singapore. 16.600 km. That's over 18 1/2 hours in the air.

I think it's 40,000 km. If you start walking (over roads and rivers, through mountains and over the oceans...) and try to reach the same position, you will circle the whole planet. So the furthest distance on the surface ot the Earth always is HERE. Right here, where you are standing now.

That would be the somewhere directly opposite of the world from you. Since the earth's circumference is approximately 40,076 km, then the farthest distance from you on earth would be 20,028 km.
