"learn a quality" is not a standard collocation and so sounds a bit strange. You can "gain/acquire a quality". However, I think that this would most closely express your meaning: "We can learn quite a lot from from (watching) the people on talent shows." Or: "Watching people on talent shows can help us improve in certain areas of our lives."
