I agree with Paul. The first version is a standard second conditional sentence. The second version is a mixed conditional. You have probably studied the main four conditional forms, but perhaps not all the mixed conditional forms.

Both are correct, if we assume the first sentence is commenting on events in the present, and the second sentence is a comment on something that happened in the recent past. Hope this helps
