I don't know how to answer your question. "Once" means that something occurred a total of one time only. This could be past tense or future. For example: Past: "Once upon a time, we lived a happy life." Future: "Once you get your degree, you will be able to find a good job." "Twice" means that something occurred a total of two times only. For example: "I went to the dentist twice this month." Or "I went to the dentist two times this month." "3 times" means that something occurred a total of 3 times only. These things do not have to happen all at one time. For example: "I eat 3 times per day: once in the morning, once in the afternoon, and once in the evening." 3 times could also be related to a mathematical equation. For example: 3 times 2 equals 6. This is the same as saying to count 3 sets of something two times (or twice) -- 3 + 3 = 6 I hope this helps. :-)
