Hello! Could anybody help me to understand the meaning of a sentence? Thanks. But this love did not lend to living together as spouses.

I'm interested in the sentence too, but not sure about the meaning of "lend to". Did the usage of "lend to" is the "lend (itself) to" listed below ? lend (itself) to To accommodate or offer itself to; be suitable for: "The presidency does not lend itself to on the job training" (Joe Biden).----------information found on dictionary

I think it was not the real love. This love did not lend them enough power to live as spouses. This love was not strong enough.
