It’s perfectly clear English - I think Bill got confused by the parenthesis, which I suppose you, Hazem, added to show which part it is you don't understand. “ones” refers to “presidential campaigns” and “yet” means “so far” : “The 2016 presidential campaign has been among the most controversial and talked about presidential campaigns so far, as scandals from both...”
