I know the meaning of the words,but dont get the whole meaning? Put on leave ???!!! He should be arrested and (charges filed period)

To be "put on leave" is to be "forced to take leave", i.e. temporarily not at work. If you're put on leave, you've been told by your company that it's unacceptable for you to be working at the moment due to something bad that you've done.

A comma can (or in my opinion should) be added so that the sentence becomes “He should be arrested and charges filed, period”. “Period” (the word for the dot that is used to show the end of a sentence) can be used to express that there is nothing more to say on a topic. Other examples: “You are not leaving this house, period.” “I don't want to talk to her again, period.”
