Could you help to explain me the world " campaign " in below sentence pls ? After learned Hillary Clinton's concession speech 2016, i have a question about one sentence in her lecture as below: "I want each of you to know that you were the best campaign anybody could have ever expected or wanted." Here i don't know how to translate the word " campaign" in this sentence . " You poured your hearts into this campaign. For some of you who are veterans, it was a campaign after you had done other campaigns. Some of you, it was your first campaign. I want each of you to know that you were the best campaign anybody could have ever expected or wanted.

In this case she is refering to the time before the elections, when she worked hard to win. "Campaign" refers to everyhing she did to promote herself, speeches she gave explaining her ideas, TV appearances and so on. This word can be defined as a series of organized things you (or someone) do to achieve a goal. In this case, we are talking about a political campaign, so her goal was to be elected President.
