Is it ok? 'I want to help poor children have better education than before.' Thanks

Other people might write it in a different style. I like to avoid the obvious, so I would write: ''I want to help poor children *to* have *a* better education.' The 'than before' would depend on context, but as we don't travel in time.... ;)

I would normally say, "I want to help poor children to have better education than before."
