How will be correct??? How will be correct??? We still had been far from the station when we saw the train was approaching or We were still far from the station when we saw the train approaching. WHY??? I would be thankful for any help!!

the latter would be correct. it could also be: We were still far from the station when the train approached. it is called past continuous tense. in this case we use the past continuous to describe an unfinished action that was interrupted by another event or action.
