The use of "as" There is a sentence I cannot understand well with "as" -What type of book became known as the Archimedes palimpsest? Is it a short way of the sentence: What type of book does the Archimedes palimpsest become known as ? I cannot figure out the exact meaning of "as". When I first read this sentence, I thought the "as" means "like" . So I am confused.

In this instance the book was known by one name but became know by the name Archimedes palimpsest. "As" in this sentence indicates the same book becoming known by a different name.
