Which one is right? what is the difference and rule? this year they come to us very seldom / this year they very seldom come to us

Hi Anastasia, Seldom is an adverb of frequency and these adverbs usually come before the main verb, or between the auxiliary and the main verb. But they come after the verb to be. In your sentences, the second one sounds better "this year they very seldom come to us" Hope this helps. Sinead
