Have you ever flown in an aeroplane? or Have you flown an aeroplane? (if you're asking someone if they've piloted the plane)

Have you ever ridden in an airplane before? You can also ask: Have you ever been on a plane before?

Present: ride Past: rode Past participle: ridden So the sentence becomes "Have you ridden an airplane before?"
