Singular Masculine akkusativ form, with a definitve article, what is the name declination? In the singular masculine akkusativ case, why do we say "den Sohn" and "den Nachbarn"? we didn't add an n to the name in the first case, but added it in the second. which one is correct? is it because "Sohn" already ends with an "n"?

Both are correct. "Sohn" is declinated regularly, "Nachbar" belongs to a special group of nouns that have this additional "n". → http://mein-deutschbuch.de/n-deklination.html
