You could say any of the following statements if something hurts a little bit.
'I've hurt my eye.'
'I just got something in my eye and it hurts a little bit.'
'There's something in my eye and it's stinging a bit.'
Usually we tend to emphasise the 'little' when describe a small thing that hurts. 'It stings just a bit'
But 'hurt' is a useful word for moderate pain.
I hope that helps
