Why does the preposition word on follows the verb plan?
Buying property in China is a common choice for expats who plan on settling down there.
Why not "to" in above sentence?
“Plan to do something” and “plan on doing something” more or less mean the same thing. Since I’m not a native speaker I don’t understand what subtle differences there might be.
