Tough, easy, rough ON me or WITH me? "My parents was tough ON/WITH me" "Don't be easy ON/WITH him!" "This guy is a little bit rough ON/WITH her" What is the difference between ON and WITH when I talk about behavior? Can I use both in the same situations?

Marion has already picked up the grammar point 'my parents were...'

For the first two examples either 'with' or 'on' both sound ok to me. Somehow 'rough on' doesn't seem right in that sentence but I can't explain why.

My parents wre tough on me. Don't be easy on him. This guy is a little bit rough with her. I think with suggests more of an "interaction", the other two are about how they behave towards another person.
