Is it grammatically necessary to use "any" in the following questions? If not,what's the difference? 1.Did you get any sleep? 2.ِ Do you eat any cake? VS 1.Did you get sleep? 2. Do you eat cake?

Hello, I hope you are doing well. "The word any is used when the speaker cannot specify or does not need/want to specify a number or an exact amount." 1.Did you get any sleep? Correct 1.ِ Do you get sleep? It is grammatically correct yet it is not that common. 2.ِ Do you eat any cake? Correct 2.Do you eat cake? Correct I hope it helps.
