Qustion about structure of a sentence from actual novel The following is one sentence of the novel "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy". And I don' t totally understand the structure of this sentence ! I would be happy if you kindly teach me it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ (Before this sentence, there are conversations of "How much?" and "Not at all") By a curious coincidence, "None at all" is exactly how much suspicion the ape-descendant Arthur had that one of his closest friends was not descended from an ape, but was in fact from a small planet somewhere in the vicinity of Betelgeuse and not from Guildford as he usually claimed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------

Perhaps this might make it easier "none at all was exactly how much sugar was in my kitchen" (I dont have any) and was a long held suspicion, of mine (passive voice) ."...until I actually got there, looked around and found lots of it"

I can explain this to you as I am very familiar with this book. However it would be rather a long and complex answer. We might have to talk...
